This message reminds finance officers of the need to complete and return their acceptance of the conditions of grant. The information in the 2012/13 grant letter should be shared with staff running these projects in the local authority.
Summary
On 2 July 2012 the Department sent confirmation of the 2012/13 social work grant agreement to Directors of Children's Services and their finance officers. This grant is for social workers who are already enrolled on any of the following social work projects: the Newly Qualified Social Worker, Early Professional Development or Step Up to social work. The funding will be released when the Department receives the local authority's acceptance of the conditions of the grant.

Local authorities are asked to confirm their acceptance of the terms and conditions of the DfE grant offer by replying to
SocialWork.PROGRAMMEGRANTS@education.gsi.gov.uk
No funding can be released to an individual local authority until their confirmation is received.
