Summary

Introduction of 16-19 study programmes from September 2013 following public consultation which ended on 4 January 2012. Also move from "funding per qualification" to "funding per learner" for all schools and colleges from September 2013 (with protection until at least 2018). Study programmes mean all students will either study A levels, a recognised and substantial vocational qualification or take part in a larger programme of work experience. Students without an A* to C GCSE in maths and English will continue to study those subjects post 16.
