Achieving Two-year-olds: new support in developing early education places

Summary

The Department has contracted Mott MacDonald to deliver a three-year support package to local authorities and early education providers to develop and implement the entitlement to free early education for two-year-olds. As part of 'Achieving Two-year-olds', local authorities will be offered bespoke support to: help them ensure there is sufficient capacity to meet the entitlement; improve the quality of provision to best meet the needs of two-year-olds; and stimulate parental demand.

All heads of Early Years establishments or equivalent should have received an invitation from Mott MacDonald to one of five regional 'Achieving Two-year-olds' launch events, which will be held across the country during July 2012.
