Summary
The Minister, Tim Loughton, has written to local authorities to acknowledge the success of Foster Care Fortnight 2012; to highlight the policy announcements he made during the Fortnight; to congratulate the majority of local authorities who have signed up to the Foster Carers' Charter and to urge the minority of authorities who have not signed up to do so; and to stress the importance of local authorities paying their foster carers at least the national minimum fostering allowance.
Action required
To note the recent fostering policy announcements, to sign up to and implement the Foster Carers' Charter, and to ensure that foster carers with a child in placement are receiving at least the national minimum allowance.
