Summary

The current School Admissions Code and School Admission Appeals Code came into force on 1 February, along with the following supporting regulations:

  •     The School Admissions (Admission Arrangements and Co-ordination of Admission Arrangements)(England) Regulations 2012

  •     The School Admissions (Appeals Arrangements)(England)Regulations 2012

  •     The School Admissions (Infant Class Sizes) (England)Regulations 2012

The School Admissions Code takes full effect on admissions arrangements being locally determined in respect of the pupil intake for the 2013/14 academic year and thereafter. However, for appeals lodged on or after 1 February 2012, these will be dealt with under the Appeals Regulations 2012 and the School Admission Appeals Code.
