The Community Trigger is a new tool to help and empower victims of antisocial behaviour.
The Community Trigger will give victims, communities and businesses the right to demand that agencies take action over antisocial behaviour complaints that have repeatedly been ignored.
Local authorities, police and health services will deal jointly with complaints raised by members of the community to try and resolve ongoing antisocial behaviour issues. Private registered providers of social housing will also have a duty to cooperate with this group, as they play a key role in tackling antisocial behaviour in local areas.
We are working with a number of leading areas to test the trigger on the ground before it can be applied nationwide. The pilot areas will provide feedback on the proposed changes from across communities in Manchester, West Lindsey and Boston, Brighton and Hove, and Richmond upon Thames.
