The third phase of the changes to teachers’ contracts introduced by the National Agreement takes effect on 1 September 2005. These changes include the provision that teachers should not routinely be required to undertake the invigilation of external examinations, including National Curriculum tests. This change to conditions of service will apply to all teachers in maintained schools.

To assist schools in the implementation of the contractual change on invigilation, the Workforce Agreement Monitoring Group (WAMG) has developed this resource pack. The pack offers important guidance on invigilation strategies available to schools and on good practice in the implementation of new invigilation arrangements.
