Publications that are available to download display a ‘Download’ button alongside the publication summary.
The Download options box displays the format and file size of the download.
If you are logged in the site will keep track of any publications you've downloaded.
This log can be used as a shortcut if you need to download a publication again, or as a way to review the items you have downloaded in the past.
To review the list of publications you have downloaded log in then click on 'My account' and then ‘My downloads’.
Different types of files are available for download:
Currently the majority of documents on this site are PDFs. These documents include all the graphics and formatting found in the printed version. You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software installed on your computer to view PDF documents. You can download the Acrobat Reader from the Adobe site (this link will open in a new browser window).
Most word processing applications can open an RTF file, allowing you to edit the document. Note that the RTF document will not look exactly the same as the printed version.
This commonly used format is similar to an RTF and is compatible with most word processing applications. Like the RTF, Word documents often contain less images than PDF versions.
This format is generally used to present raw data from studies. It can be opened with any modern office suite such as OpenOffice or Microsoft Office.
