The impact of research
04 Jan 2012
A new report published by Research Councils UK illustrates how partnerships such as those between the research councils and the Technology Strategy Board are delivering economic benefits for the UK.
The RCUK Impact Report 2011 complements impact reports from each research council, and shows how the UK’s world-leading research, integrated with innovation, contributes substantially to UK economic growth and prosperity. As well as stimulating economic growth, excellent research with impact can increase the effectiveness of public services and policy and enhance the quality of life, health and creative output of society.
In showing how the councils work with a wide range of partners to achieve impact, the report reflects the strong and extremely effective relationships that the Technology Strategy Board has with RCUK and with individual research councils.
The Technology Strategy Board is committed to building on these strategic partnerships with coordinated programmes which help to ensure continuity of support across the innovation system, maximising the impact of research and development and co-investing and fostering partnerships across business, industry and academia that generate innovation and commercialisation of ideas for economic growth.”
