Innovate Scotland is a conference and exhibition for business, organised by Highlands and Islands Enterprise with the Technology Strategy Board, in partnership with the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise and the Scottish Funding Council.
Innovate Scotland will be held at the Aviemore Highland Resort on 28-29 October 2009 (from lunchtime to lunchtime).
Aimed primarily at business, the event aims to inform and inspire, showing how businesses can innovate to lay the foundations for growth now and in the future, and showcasing the wide range of programmes, networks and support available to encourage technology-enabled innovation.
Innovate Scotland includes a conference with keynote sessions and parallel seminars and workshops, an innovation showcase and valuable networking opportunities. Reflecting the theme of the Technology Strategy Board's Innovate 09 event in London on October 13th, Innovate Scotland will address many aspects of technology innovation, with special focus on the commercial exploitation of growth opportunities in a low CARBON economy, ENERGY, the DIGITAL economy and LIFE SCIENCES. These themes will be reflected in the exhibition, conference and seminar programme, where businesses will be able to meet with and learn from peers in business, government and research, all focused on using innovation to stimulate growth.
Iain Gray, Chief Executive of the Technology Strategy Board, will be speaking at the event, and there will be a programme of speakers on aspects of innovation drawn from across business, government and academia. Informative and interactive seminars and workshops will be run by technology experts from the Technology Strategy Board, and by representatives from a wide range of organisations in Scotland engaged in technology, enterprise, research and innovation.
