Today's look at Foreign Office activity and the events taking place in and around the London 2012 Olympic Games.

  • The Minister for Africa Henry Bellingham met President Ali Bongo Ondimba in London on 1 August. Among the topics discussed were growing UK-Gabon trade relations. After the meeting Minister Bellingham said “I was delighted to meet President Bongo once again. This was an excellent opportunity to build on previous discussions and further enhance UK-Gabon ties.”
  • The British Business Embassy is today hosting a Global Business Summit on Healthcare and Life Sciences. "Rising to the Healthcare Challenges of the Next Decade" will discuss and debate the ways in transformational change in healthcare can be achieved through collaboration between industry, academia and healthcare providers.  The event is being streamed live on the British Business Embassy's YouTube channel.
