Role of the National DNA Database Strategy Board

The National DNA Database Strategy Board provides governance and oversight of the operation of the NDNAD.

Amanda Cooper is Chair of the National DNA Database Strategy Board and Director of Information and Strategy at Thames Valley Police.  She was the ACPO Chair of the Police Information Assurance Board (PIAB) from 2009 to 2012.  Prior to her current role, Amanda was Head of Forensic Sciences at Thames Valley Police from 2002 - 2008. She supported a number of ACPO Forensic Portfolios during this time.
 
The National DNA Database Strategy Board comprises representatives of the ACPO, the Home Office, the DNA Ethics Group, the Forensic Science Regulator, the NPIA, the Information Commissioners Office, ACPOS (Scotland), the Scottish Police Services Authority, the Criminal Justice Service and Scientific Support Services of Northern Ireland.
