Electronic whiteboards at Trafford Healthcare NHS Trust

The team at Trafford Healthcare NHS Trust (now part of Central Manchester Foundation Trust) have developed electronic touch-screen whiteboards that provide clinical staff with instant access to vital information about their patients.

The large electronic whiteboards have been in use on wards at Trafford General since May last year. They are linked to the hospital’s electronic patient record system, enabling staff to access all the clinical information they need to provide the highest standard of care.

Ward staff can now see key information at a glance, including test results, whether a patient is at risk of infection, any allergies they have and patients awaiting assessment for their risk of developing blood clots. The whiteboards also feature details of patients’ expected discharge dates and referrals for any nursing or social care they will require when they leave hospital.
