This booklet is the fourth in the Managing School Facilities series, and offers guidance on how to improve the security of school premises.
The guidance includes advice on the management and security and, in particular, on the roles of local authorities, school governors and head teachers. It describes how schools can carry out their own security surveys, assess themselves in terms of risks and consider security measures appropriate to that level of risk.
This guidance is aimed at head teachers, governors, caretakers, local authorities and all those concerned with making schools safer places.
