EAST MIDLANDS GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE NETWORK (EMGIN)
Sadly, the EMGIN website will be closing down following the move from a formal regional approach to that of localism, and the consequent lack of ongoing funding for its continued support.
EMGIN has been an extremely successful and pro-active partnership, and we would like to thank our many colleagues from across the Region for making EMGIN such a success over the years from when it was first launched.
All the resources and publications and events attended, where new skills and the development of Green spaces and implementation of Green Infrastructure was promoted will not be lost as they will be available through the National Archives, which can be found at:
http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20110606111319/http://www.emgin.co.uk/
We are very proud of the work that has taken place and the fact that other parts of the country have adopted this way of working and set up Green Infrastructure networks using EMGIN as an example. We would also like to thank Alison Hepworth and Ian Paterson for their support to EMGIN over many years, and to the East Midlands Green Infrastructure Steering Group who have also worked very hard to achieve exciting projects in the East Midlands, creating green corridors and open spaces for local people to visit for many years to come.
The 6Cs projects can be found on their own micro site, http://www.emgin.org/6Cs and this will continue until the end of the projects in April-May 2012 so, updates will be made until the funding programme is complete.
Finally, we hope you will continue to support and promote green infrastructure projects, and most of all visit them with your family and friends. The River Nene Regional Park hold a number of Green Infrastructure Guide booklets for the East Midlands if you would like some copies please email the RNRP >>>
Best wishes from
The River Nene Regional Park Team on behalf of EMGIN
