Accessibility

We are committed to ensuring this website can be used effectively by all users, and have made our best efforts to ensure that the core content of sites using this service is accessible. Our aim is to:

  • deliver the same information and the same general functionality to all users regardless of the platform used to access them;
  • support multi-modal access (e.g. text equivalents of video/audio);
  • enable customisation (e.g. freedom to apply user stylesheets);

We use automated tools to help identify potential accessibility problems with the website, and follow good practice where it exists, for example in ensuring that alternative formats exist for images, that page templates are well-structured for navigation and that functionality does not depend on use of a mouse. Whilst we believe the website platform itself to be broadly accessible, the accessiblity of individual sites using this service will depend in part in the efforts taken by their publishers, and we encourage users to get in touch with the publishers if they identify accessibility problems.

Much of the internet remains, and particularly rich social media applications are, not fully accessible to all users. We encourage publishers of websites on this platform to choose third party partners and tools with the aim of providing useful information and features, accessible to as many people as possible, and to ensure core content is accessible to all. In addition, we will endeavour to support emerging standards such as WAI-ARIA as these become available, and where it is feasible to do so.

If you wish to provide any feedback concerning the accessibility of this site as a whole or would like to know more about how we are working to make the site accessible, please contact us at info@readandcomment.com.
