How to find us

Our offices are open to visitors between 0800 and 1730 Monday to Thursday, and 0800 to 1600 on Friday. Please let us know in advance of any special requirements.

Northavon House is on the Frenchay campus of the University of the West of England, about four miles north of Bristol city centre.

By rail

The nearest stations are Bristol Parkway and Filton Abbey Wood.

Trains from London Paddington take around 1 hour 20 minutes to Bristol Parkway.

By road

Leave M4 at Junction 19 and take the M32 southbound, stay in the left hand lane which filters off at the first exit within 400 metres. Turn right at the roundabout and continue west on the A4174. At the first set of lights, turn left signposted UWE, follow Coldharbour Lane for approximately 500 yards and turn right at the roundabout onto the UWE campus.

Northavon House is the first building on campus, a large redbrick building with its own car park.

Press the buzzer to the right of the entrance to the car park to request entry.

Access for visitors with limited mobility

  • Accessible car parking in marked bays by main entrance to building
  • Main entrance has ramp, no steps and accessible automatic door
  • Elevator to all floors
  • Wheelchair-accessible toilets on each floor

HEFCE’s London office is on the 12th floor of the Centre Point building in central London.

How to get to Centre Point

By bus

Bus routes 1, 7, 8, 14, 19, 22, 24, 25, 29, 38, 55, 73, 134, 153 and 176 pass Centre Point.

By London Underground

The nearest London Underground stations are:

  • Tottenham Court Road (Central and Northern lines): to exit, follow subway signs for Centre Point Plaza - one minute's walk
  • Goodge Street (Northern line) - seven minutes' walk
  • Leicester Square (Northern and Piccadilly lines) - 10 minutes' walk
  • Euston Square (Circle and Metropolitan lines) - 12 minutes' walk
  • Warren Street (Northern and Victoria lines) - 12 minutes' walk

Car parking

Car parking in basement by pre-arrangement. There are also NCP car parks nearby in Adeline Place, Museum Place and Bloomsbury Square.
