National Citizen Service (NCS)

What is National Citizen Service (NCS)?

If you’re in Year 11, this summer you could have the chance to take part in National Citizen Service: mixing with people from different backgrounds, learning more about yourself and giving something back.

It’s a voluntary programme that includes fun and challenging activities, away-from-home residential experiences and a social action project designed by the young people involved.

How can I get involved?

National Citizen Service takes place across England. There are around 30,000 places available for summer 2012, with more places in future years as the scheme grows.

Where can I find out more?

There’s more information on the programme and application process at:

International Citizen Service

Age 18-22? You could take part in the International Citizen Service (ICS), a global volunteering experience for young people from all backgrounds to make a real difference to the lives of some of the world’s poorest people.
