Chambers & Cook Freight was looking to expand its business into Pakistan. A trade mission organised by UK Trade & Investment was instrumental in helping the company find the right local partner.

Since 1925, family-owned logistics company Chambers & Cook Freight has been delivering its customers’ goods around the UK from its central base in Birmingham in the heart of the West Midlands. Today, it operates over 85 transport trailers throughout Europe, and offers international freight and logistics services to a range of UK-based and international customers.

Chambers & Cook’s Forwarding Department wanted to find a partner in export and import clearance services and deliveries between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Chris White, Forwarding Manager for the company, joined a UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Trade Mission which allowed him to meet in person with 12 local companies. One in particular made a real impact on him, and soon after a deal was signed with DMK Logistics. Chambers & Cook can now provide a truly complete service to its customers.

“UKTI was a big help to me before and during the trade mission,” says Chris. “UKTI gave us a grant towards the cost of the trip and helped us to make travel and accommodation arrangements. But what was really invaluable was their local expertise.”
