Chinese law firm to launch in London
The London base will play a pivotal role in Yingke’s growth plans, acting as its headquarters in this part of the world and providing excellent links to major European players like France and Germany.
The size and practice focus of the new “key location” remains unconfirmed at this stage but it was revealed that the office will be managed and operated solely by Yingke, which is China's second largest law firm in terms of the number of lawyers on its books.
Current International Policy Adviser at The Law Society of England and Wales, Jack Yu, has been recruited to the Beijing-headquartered business to become Managing Director of Yingke's London office.
International Practice Partner at Yingke, Catherine Guo, told The Lawyer magazine: “London’s a key location for us in Europe; it will serve as our headquarters for Western European business. From the London office we can also enter into cooperation and relationships with firms and clients in neighbouring countries such as France and Germany.”
