Notice to Exporters 2011/16 - Consultation launched on EU Dual-Use Regulation by European Union

Your views are sought on the functioning of the EU dual-use export control system.

A public consultation has been launched by the European Commission on European Union dual-use controls as controlled under the EU Dual-Use Regulation 428/2009.

The consultation is published in a Green Paper on EU dual-use export control system - http://trade.ec.europa.eu/doclib/html/148020.htm

The commission welcomes the widest range of possible views from exporters of dual-use goods as well as other interested stakeholders including Non-Governmental Organisations and those in academia.

The consultation opened on 30 June 2011 and will end on 31 October 2011. All responses should be sent directly to the European Commission.

You should note that the remit of this consultation does not extend to a review of either controls on military goods or national dual-use controls.

Dual-use items are those that can be used for both civil and military purposes such as cryptographic items, telecoms equipment, lasers, materials and much more.
