New TV ads make healthier choices easy
Monday 14 January 2008
The Agency has today launched new TV advertisements as part of its ongoing activity to encourage shoppers to look for and use traffic light labels.
The TV ads, voiced by comedian Dawn French, will air for three weeks during GMTV breaks to remind shoppers that they can find red, amber and green traffic light labels on many food products and that these really can make healthier eating easier. Buses up and down the country will also be displaying traffic light ads throughout January and there will be feature articles in a selection of TV magazines.
Also, the Agency's new short film about traffic light labelling shows how front of pack labelling is helping people to make healthier choices, and why it is so important. It explains where shoppers can find traffic light labelling and features various health charities and consumer organisations who support the Agency's approach to nutritional food labelling. It also features retailers and manufacturers who have adopted the approach.
