Scottish Food Advisory Committee Appointment of Members

The Food Standards Agency wishes to appoint three new members to the Committee in 2011/12. The role involves a time commitment of 2/3 days per month, including committee meetings and attracts a remuneration of £5,319 per year (non-pensionable). Appointments are for a two-year term and are made by Scottish Ministers.
The Scottish Food Advisory Committee acts as an advisory body to the Food Standards Agency and is chaired by one of the two Scottish members of its Board. The Committee’s role is to provide advice and information to the Food Standards Agency about matters connected with its function, including particular matters affecting or otherwise relating to Scotland.

We would be particularly interested in applications from those with expertise in enforcement, nutrition, the food industry or consumer related, as these are currently underrepresented in the Committee.
