Agency welcomes Cabinet Office food report
Thursday 3 January 2008
The FSA welcomes today's publication of the Cabinet Office Strategy Unit report that looks at food and food policy in the UK.
Working with Defra, the Department of Health, the Food Standards Agency and other departments, the report is from a project examining current and emerging trends in the production and consumption of food, the key drivers of those trends and the implications for the wider economy, society and the environment.
The report also looks at the opportunities and challenges facing the food system, including issues such as diet's contribution to public health, food safety, changing consumer tastes and preferences, and environmental sustainability.
The FSA looks forward to continuing to work with other Government Departments as the project progresses and will continue to contribute fully to the further stages of its development.
