Attend the first meeting of the GACS

An open invitation to attend the first meeting of the new General Advisory Committee on Science (GACS) committee has been issued today by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
The meeting, which will take place from 9am until 1pm on Tuesday 11 March at the Royal College of Physicians, London, will discuss the role of the Committee, its future work programme and the work of the scientific committees advising the Agency.
The overall purpose of the new GACS committee is to offer independent challenge and advice on how the FSA collects and uses scientific evidence. The membership of the committee includes 13 expert members and two lay members. It is chaired by renowned British neuroscientist Professor Colin Blakemore.
