Boots and Bernard Matthews are the two latest companies to have signed up to the Agency’s recommended approach to front of pack signpost labelling, according to the latest issue of FSA News, which is published and available online.
The May issue of the Agency newsletter also outlines the background to the recent decision by the FSA Board to recommend fortification of flour with folic acid.
News stories include the first annual report on incidents, salt campaign work in Merseyside and Scotland, Safer food, better business with Chinese caterers in Surrey, and the prosecution of a coldstore in Northern Ireland.
A research supplement, published as part of the issue, includes news from the Agency’s Chief Scientist and a profile of the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition, which advises the Agency on issues such as folic acid.
