Agency tenders for lab services
Thursday 19 July 2007
The Agency is tendering for National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) able to undertake feed and food analysis in the UK.
Each NRL is expected to liaise and participate in the work of EU Reference Laboratories. They also provide scientific and technical help for the Official Feed and Food Control Laboratories and to the Agency.
The contract requires analytical services for areas including Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella, marine biotoxins, and materials and articles in contact with food.
Each contractor will have to show that its organisation is commercially sound, be able to demonstrate a high level of scientific expertise in the relevant area and deliver impartial advice. A laboratory may specialise in more than one area, and a consortium with one lead laboratory could be appointed as NRL.
The contract runs for four years. The deadline for applying is 17 August 2007.
