Future of the Local Standards Framework
As outlined in the standards provisions of the Localism Act 2011, the regulatory role of Standards for England ceased to exist from 31 January 2012.
This means that, from this date, we are no longer able to accept new referrals or conduct investigations into complaints against members.
It also means that our role in providing guidance on the current standards framework will cease from this date. Click here for further details.
The Code of Conduct
Local authorities are required to adopt a Code of Conduct that sets out rules governing the behaviour of their members. New online guides include Independent members & Blogging.
