Poverty and disadvantage

Find out what we're doing to support practitioners working with children, young people and their families experiencing poverty and disadvantage.

What's the project?

To help meet the government's target of ending child poverty by 2020 CWDC has developed a set of resources to support those working with children and young people.

In 2011, CWDC coordinated the development of a training module and learner resource to help practitioners identify, assess and tackle child poverty. The module and resource are designed to build knowledge and understanding of poverty and can be tailored to meet local perspectives.

The training module ‘Understand, recognise and respond to child poverty’ and its accompanying learner resource are now available to download.

Poverty and disadvantage falls within CWDC’s Families with Multiple Needs project.
