Participation across the children's workforce

For CWDC, participation means ensuring the structures, resources and processes are in place so we and our workforce can take action, make changes and be steered by what children, young people and their families tell us.

CWDC's Participation Fund ran between 2007 and 2010 and was designed to encourage and enhance the participation of children, young people and their families in local workforce development and reform.

In late 2010 we commissioned Cantebury Christ Church University, working in partnership with Kent Children's Fund Network, to conduct a review of the Participation Fund programme. They used desk research and interviews with practitioners, children, young people and parents involved in the projects to look at how effective the fund was at supporting children, young people and families involvement in workforce development.

A range of different resources were developed by the projects to support organiations and practitioners to involve children, young people and families in workforce development. You can access these in the Participation resources section.

You can find further details of all the projects funded on the pages for each funding round.

A booklet which provides contact details and gives more information about the regional projects that took place in 2007-08 is available to download below.
