Early Years leads.
Over the summer the Government consulted on a revised draft EYFS framework. The reforms included reduced paperwork and bureaucracy for professionals; a strong focus on the three prime areas of learning most essential for children's healthy development and future learning; simplified assessment at age five; and a new written summary of children's progress for parents when their child is aged around two.
We received over 2300 online responses to the consultation and conducted an intensive series of meetings, workshops and events with a range of stakeholders.
Today we publish the Government's response to the consultation and launch a one month consultation on proposed changes to the EYFS (Learning and Development Requirements) Order 2012 and aspects of the learning and development requirements.
LAs are invited to respond to the additional one month EYFS learning and development consultation by 19 January 2012.
