Number of requests for information received by Yorkshire Forward

As a public authority Yorkshire Forward is subject to obligations under the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) 2000, Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) 2004 and the Data Protection Act (DP) 1998. These Acts give the public the general right of access to information held by a public authority, and give individuals the right to know what information is held about them.  Because of the rising public and commercial awareness of the Acts, requests continue to increase in number and have become increasingly complex.  There has also been an increase in the number of requests from journalists and MP’s using the Freedom of Information Act. The below table illustrates the number of requests received by Yorkshire Forward in recent years:

Financial Year FOI EIR DP
2009 / 10 (as at 18/11/09) 91 2 2
2008 / 09 85 1 2
2007 / 08 62 0 1
2006 / 07 78 2 3
2005 / 06 41 2 3
