Call for applications: Study to Review and Update the Relative Need Formulae (RNF) for Adult Social Care

The Department of Health’s Policy Research Programme invites applications to Review and Update the Relative Need Formulae (RNF) for Adult Social Care.

The RNF are used to ensure an equitable distribution of resources for adult social care between Councils in England. The two formulae, for younger adults and for older people, take account of differences in population numbers, needs, resources and input costs (wages) between areas.

This will be a single stage tender process and the amount available will be in the region of £700k. The study will need to be completed by the end of March 2014.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 5.00 pm, Thursday 05 January 2012. Any applications submitted after the 5.00 pm deadline will not be considered.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application approximately five weeks after the submission date.
