Special educational needs (SEN) and disability

The TDA's special educational needs (SEN) and disability programme focuses on specific projects for trainees, newly qualified teachers (NQTs) and experienced teachers with the aim of enhancing your skills in relation to SEN and disability.

There are a range of resources for trainees and NQT induction, including user guides and film clips, to enhance your knowledge of SEN and disability.

We focus on:

  • The core skills required to manage SEN and disability in the classroom; in particular initial teacher training (ITT) and induction.
  • The advanced skills that some teachers may develop as part of their continuing professional development (CPD).

For more information on any of our programmes or resources, please contact sen@tda.gov.uk.
