This consultation closes at midnight on Tuesday 27 September 2011.
As part of the Civil Contingencies Act Enhancement Programme (CCAEP), we have undertaken a number of projects aimed at supporting responders to fulfil their duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (CCA). At Phase 1 of the Programme, we revised Chapters 2 (Co-operation) and 3 (Information Sharing) of Emergency Preparedness (EP), the statutory guidance that accompanies the CCA, as well as drafting a new chapter on The Fit with Other Legislation. The initial stage of Phase 2 saw revisions being made to seven EP chapters, and earlier this year, we asked for your views on these changes. Following on from that consultation, the final versions of Chapter 5 (Emergency Planning), Chapter 10 (Scotland), Chapter 11 (Wales), Chapter 12 (Northern Ireland), Chapter 14 (The Role of the Voluntary Sector), Chapter 15 (Sectors that should be involved in Emergency Planning), and the Bibliography will be published shortly. We will also publish reports on the consultations and the Government response to the comments made. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed.
Continuing the Phase 2 Programme, we are now consulting on revisions to a further set of chapters, as well as changes to the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (Contingency Planning) (Amendment) Regulations 2011. Details of the proposed changes to each chapter are set out in Annex A.
In a change to previous consultations, respondents are asked to submit their responses to the questions, as well as their comments, via our dedicated on-line survey. The link to the website is https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/EPConsultationJuly2011
