Codes of conduct and ethics

The Cabinet Office is responsible for advice on issues under the Civil Service Code, the Ministerial Code and the Code of Conduct for Special Advisers.

We issue model codes of conduct for board members and staff of public bodies and work with departments to ensure that staff and office-holders in the public bodies sector work to the highest personal and professional standards.

The Cabinet Office also provides a range of information and guidance on how government business is carried out.
