To de-register either:

  • download the de-registration form
  • email a de-registration request to registration@gtce.org.uk
  • call the Teacher Enquiry Service on 0370 001 0308
  • write to:

When writing to us you will need to include the following information:

  • full name (including any previous names)
  • date of birth
  • teacher reference number (TRN)
  • national insurance number (NI)
  • date of last employment
  • reason for de-registration (for example retiring, moving abroad or taking up a different profession)
  • confirmation that you wish to de-register.

De-registration with the Council does not affect your qualified teacher status and you can re-register at any point by completing an application to register form.
