Information Rights

We collate and process personal information, so have to comply with the Data Protection Act and because we are a public authority we also have to comply with the Freedom of Information Act. 

Our publication scheme explains what sort of information we hold and the requirements upon us to make it available.  You can find a record in the scheme of all of the information that we are able to make available, so if you would like to request access to information held by Postcomm, you should first check the scheme to make sure that the information you need is listed. 

If the information you require is listed in the publication scheme, you will need to send us a written request for a copy. You can do this by email or by post to:

We will reply within 20 working days of receipt. We will either provide the information you have requested, or explain why it has not been provided quoting an exemption under the Act.

Information About You

If we have precessed or recorded information about you, you can make a subject access request for all the information relating to you.  To do this fill out the request form and send to the postal or email addresses listed above.  We will respond to your request within 40 calendar days, as stipulated by the Data Protection Act, either with the information requested or an explanation of why it has not been released.

If you are dissatisfied with the information you have received or with our response to you, you can ask us to conduct an internal review of our decision.  If you are still dissatisfied, you should ask the Information Commissioner to take up your complaint (see for further information).If you would like to discuss making a request, or to track the progress of an existing request, please contact Postcomm on 020 7593 2100 and ask for the FOI team.
