WorldSkills London 2011 Ltd has been set up with the sole purpose of developing and delivering a successful WorldSkills London 2011 Competition.
Chris Humphries - Chair
Chris Humphries was appointed Chief Executive of the UK Commission for Employment and Skills in January 2008. This appointment follows high profile national roles such as Director General of the City and Guilds Institute, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, Chief Executive of the TEC National Council and various roles in government. He led the UK's successful bid to host the WorldSkills competiton in London in 2011.
Simon Bartley - non Executive Board Member
Simon Bartley is the Chief Executive of UK Skills, which was at the heart of the successful bid to bring WorldSkills to London in 2011, and has extensive experience in the learning and skills sector. Simon is a past Chair of the CBI SME Council, SummitSkills and the Sector Skills Council for the Building Services Engineering Sector. He is also a member of the City and Guilds Council.
Simon Brown - non Executive Board Member
Simon Brown was appointed as Non Executive Board member of WorldSkills London 2011 Ltd in May 2009. This appointment is the latest in a successful career in the trade association, event and exhibitions and charity sectors.
Nadine Dereza - non Executive Board Member
Nadine Dereza was appointed as a Non Executive Board Member of WorldSkills London 2011 Ltd in May 2009. Nadine is the Managing Director of Presenter.co.uk and, prior to this, presented for CNN, Simply Money, BBC and Sky TV to name but a few.
Pablo Lloyd, Board Member
Pablo Lloyd is Deputy Chief Executive of Ufi and has previously served as Finance Director at MCPS-PRS Alliance and Nationwide's property services subsidiary. He is a chartered accountant and has a degree from Cambridge in Mathematics and Computer Science.
Tony McGuirk - non Executive Board Member
Tony McGuirk was appointed as a Non Executive Board Member of WorldSkills London 2011 Ltd in May 2009. He is the Chief Fire Officer of Merseyside Fire Brigade and has a 30 year career in the Fire Service. He is a recipient of the Queen's Fire Service Award.
William Priest - non Executive Board member
William Priest was appointed as a Non Executive Board Member of WorldSkills London 2011 Ltd in May 2009. Over the last 20 years, William has worked in the IT and Telecoms sector, leading multinational teams at IBM, AT&T and Orange. William is now an Executive Director and on the Management Board of Airwave Solutions Ltd.
Peter Woodhouse - non Executive Board Member
Peter Woodhouse was appointed as a Non Executive Board Member of WorldSkills London 2011 Ltd in May 2009. Peter is a partner at Stone King Sewell LLP Solicitors (SKS), specialising in employment and transport law. Peter also acts as an advisor and advocate for the government as a panel member of the Treasury Council.
Dan Wright - non Executive Board Member
Dan Wright was appointed as Non Executive Board Member of WorldSkills London 2011 Ltd in May 2009. Dan became the Chief Executive of Protocol Skills in 2004 and led a management buyout of the business in 2007. Before this, he worked in the hospitality industry for 24 years, but originally trained as a teacher.
David Cragg - non Executive Boad Member
David Cragg was appointed as Non Executive Board Member of WorldSkills London 2011 Ltd in June 2010. David Cragg is the National Director of Development for the Skills Funding Agency - a post which is the culmination of a substantial and varied career dedicated to learning and skills development in teaching, industrial liaison and economic development.
Simon Waugh - non Executive Board Member
Simon Waugh was appointed as Non Executive Board Member of WorldSkills London 2011 Ltd in June 2010. In February 2009 Simon was appointed to the role of Chief Executive of the newly formed National Apprenticeship Service, reporting directly to the Secretary of State for Education and the Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills.
