Eastern Promise, Archives In The East Of England

Main Document 1.3 MB

Chris Pickford

Eastern Promise is a regional archives strategy for the East of England Region. Commissioned by the Regional Archive Council (EERAC), it sits alongside the regional strategies produced in 2001-2 for the other English regions. Like the other strategies, it looks at needs and opportunities and charts a course for progress.

Given the resources and entrusted with the task, archives services working with other agencies and collaborating with museums and libraries can and will deliver.
No single agency can tackle this alone. Achieving the vision for archives set out in this strategy will fall largely to archive repositories and the regional agencies, but the support of paymasters, partners and users potential champions all will make a huge difference.
EERAC hopes that everyone with an interest in archives will welcome this document and do what they can to make sure that things happen.
