Allied Health Professionals and Health Science Services

The national framework agreement for the supply of allied health professionals and health science services staff commenced on 24 April 2009 for a period of three years and expires on 23 April 2012. There is the potential to extend this period by up to maximum further 12 months.

The framework agreement is available for use by the NHS and other public bodies throughout England, Northern Ireland and Wales.

This framework agreement uses a national set of terms and conditions of contract and has been awarded on a national basis.

This framework agreement provides for an extensive range of professions, including (but not limited to) the following sub job families:

Allied Health Professions - dietetics, occupational therapy, orthoptists, physiotherapy, podiatry, radiography (diagnostic & therapeutic) and speech & language therapy.

Health Science Services - anatomical pathology, biomedical science, clinical science, cytology, medical technicians and pharmacy

The framework agreement has a transparent contract pricing mechanism and allows for NHS trusts and other public bodies to realise efficiency savings through negotiating service level agreements and benefiting from additional discounts for volume of business agreed with the appointed framework agencies.
