I don't have regular web access, where else can I find out about your vacancies?

We currently advertise the majority of our vacancies in the Liverpool Echo and/or the Eastern Daily Press and within specialist trade magazines, where appropriate.

What principles guide your recruitment procedures?

If I decide to apply, how long will I have to wait to hear whether I have been selected for interview?

Not long. The interview dates are always published with the job advertisement and are normally within a few weeks of the closing date, so as soon as the application sifting process has taken place, you will be notified.

Will I have the opportunity to obtain feedback on my performance at interview?

Absolutely. We will always respond to a request for feedback in an open and constructive manner.

Where will the interview be held?

As we have many cross-site teams, the majority of our vacancies will be based in either Norwich or Liverpool and the interviews may be held at either location. Travelling costs to a distant location are always reimbursed.

If I am successful, what training will I receive?

Buying Solutions is an Investor in People which means it has been successfully assessed against a nationally recognised standard of best practice in people management and development. Investor in People status further supports the agency's commitment to ensure that all members of staff have an equal opportunity to realise their potential through a range of training activities and are able to contribute to the success of the business by using their skills and experience to maximum effect.

Whilst the majority of your initial job related training will be carried out by colleagues within your team, this will be supplemented by a number of mandatory training courses to give you a wider perspective of the agency as a whole.

Thereafter, line managers are required to discuss training needs with individuals on a regular basis and individuals are expected to take responsibility for their own development throughout their career and to take a lead in identifying areas of training needs. Appropriate training will be supported/funded by the agency wherever possible, taking into account business strategy and cost effectiveness.

If I am successful, what are my career prospects?

For high calibre staff, the prospects for development and advancement are excellent. Opportunities for lateral development and promotion arise regularly and are decided upon on merit in the spirit of open and fair competition. If you have the necessary skills and experience to fulfil a particular role, you will be actively encouraged to apply.
