The following data entry options are available:
- Port Community System: for users to send data automatically via MCP and CNS Port Community Systems. This method requires almost no work from data providers as the necessary data are transmitted automatically on their behalf.
- Internet Statistical Data Entry Software (iSDES): this internet based system has been specially produced to allow easy input of data which can be entered directly onto a web form using the standard internet browser Internet Explorer (version 6 or later of this browser is required). The information can then be submitted automatically to the collection agent. Please contact UK maritime statistics for the link to the web site and details of your account, which will be password protected for security. See iSDES User Guide (PDF - 3076 KB)
- ASCII flat file: designed for data providers who already have the required data in their in-house information management systems. Data providers can extract the requisite data from their systems in an ASCII Flat File, in a prescribed format. See ASCII Flat File User Guide (PDF - 230 KB)
- Paper form: official DfT forms which have to be completed and returned (only to be used if one of the above electronic options is not feasible).
Data providers can, if they wish, use a combination of these options.
The iSDES system above has replaced the earlier SDES system.
