This report fulfills the requirement of article 19(2) of the Renewable Energy Directive (Directive 2009/28/EC). The report provides regional level estimates of greenhouse gas emissions arising from cultivation of biofuels feedstocks in the UK and identifies those regions of the UK where the Renewable Energy Directive default cultivation values can be used.
The supplementary report provides an estimation of the emissions from biofuels cultivation produced using an alternative methodology for the calculation of emissions from soil: the DNDC modelling approach. The supplementary report is provided for information, but it is not intended for use in regulated greenhouse gas emissions reporting.
Annex A has been provided to supply additional information on the data and methodology used in the main report.
