The Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) carried out a review regarding the nature of the problem of noisy vehicles and methods used in other countries to measure noise were assessed. The work recommends the adoption of UN-ECE Regulations 59 and 92 should be examined ensuring they cover all aftermarket products and components. The recommendation is also made to develop a test for roadside use to enforce noise limit values.
