Guide to Housing Benefit
I’m earning more, can I still get Housing Benefit?
My income has gone up
If you’re getting Housing Benefit and your income goes up, you could get an extra 4 weeks of payments, called Extended Payment of Housing Benefit. Your council will decide if you can get this.
I’m going back to work
Your local council will decide if you can get in-work Housing Benefit. Once your 4 weeks of Extended Housing Benefit has ended, you can move onto in-work Housing Benefit without having to make a new claim.
