The Prime Minister said he looked forward to working together with Prime Minister-elect Noda to strengthen further UK-Japan relations.

He said:

"I wish Prime Minister-elect success in dealing with the economic and reconstruction challenges faced by Japan following the earthquake earlier this year.

“As my colleague the Foreign Secretary has recently said, Japan is unquestionably our closest partner in Asia and our two countries work closely together in the G7 and other international fora.

“I look forward to working together with Prime Minister-elect Noda to strengthen further UK-Japan relations across political, trade, economic and security agendas.”
