Regulating the market

Postcomm’s regulatory duties are legally defined by the Postal Services Act 2000, and derive from European Postal Directives. We regulate the mail market through granting licences for the collection and delivery of mail. Where conditions of these licences are breached, we can take action to enforce them..

Because we need to be knowledgeable about the market in order to regulate it, we also carry out regular surveys of businesses and residents to find out what they think about their postal service.
