The Big Society Projects

Below is a list of projects that the Royal Borough is pursuing as a result of being chosen by the Coalition Government as a Vanguard Community.

The Council's Big Society Panel receives updates at each meeting on the current status of the Big Society projects. These can be seen on the status grid report at the foot of this page. Further information is available in the reports considered by the Big Society Panel.

Devolution to Parishes

Participatory Budgeting

Incentives

To pilot an off-the-shelf non-cash incentive scheme to help increase the number of people taking part in volunteering and other activities at minimal cost by April 2011.

Guildhall Volunteering

To ensure direct community involvement and participation in the development and operation of the Guildhall museum.
Project CareBank

To co-design with Royal Borough residents an innovative scheme that will enable people to provide help and support for one another and receive 'time credits' that they can use either for themselves or their families, or in exchange for council services, such as swimming at leisure centres.
