PSA data systems validation 2010

PSAs were introduced in 1998 to promote performance improvement and increase the accountability for government resources. PSAs were at the centre of the then Government's performance measurement system and were three year agreements, set during the spending review process and negotiated between departments and the Treasury. They set objectives for the priority areas of Government's work.

Since 2003, the NAO has examined the quality of the data systems used to monitor and report progress against the PSA framework. In June 2010, the incoming Government ended PSAs.
